Social Media Marketing Cost in India (2026 Pricing Guide)
· 6 min read
Nobody publishes their prices, so every founder asking this question gets the same answer: "it depends." That's true, and it's also unhelpful. So here are real numbers, what you get at each level, and the costs that tend to appear later.
The short answer
In India in 2026, ongoing social media management typically falls into three bands:
- ₹8,000 – ₹15,000 per month — a freelancer or very small setup. Usually posting and basic design. Little strategy, no paid media management.
- ₹15,000 – ₹40,000 per month — a proper studio or small agency. Content strategy, designed creative, reels, captions, monthly reporting.
- ₹75,000 – ₹2,00,000+ per month — full growth partnership. Everything above plus paid media management, shoot production, influencer coordination and senior strategy.
For reference, our own packages sit at ₹15,000–25,000 for Essential, ₹25,000–30,000 for Growth, and ₹1,00,000+ for Elite. We publish them because pricing secrecy wastes everybody's time.
Why the range is so wide
Two agencies quoting ₹20,000 and ₹80,000 are often not selling the same thing at all. The variables that actually move the price:
Volume of creative
Twelve posts a month is a different job from thirty posts plus twelve reels. Reels in particular are expensive because editing takes real time.
Whether shoots are included
This is the biggest hidden variable. If your brand needs fresh photography every month, someone has to plan, style, shoot and edit it. Agencies quoting low prices are almost always working from stock or from images you supply.
Whether paid media is managed
Running Meta ads properly is a separate discipline from posting content. Most agencies charge either a flat fee or 10–20% of ad spend for this.
Seniority of the person actually doing the work
The uncomfortable truth of agency pricing. A ₹15,000 retainer cannot fund a senior strategist's attention. It funds a junior executing a template. That is fine for some brands, and completely wrong for others.
What you should get at each level
₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per month
Expect: a monthly content calendar, 12–16 designed posts, 4–8 stories, captions and hashtags, community management, and a monthly performance report. You supply product images.
Do not expect: shoots, paid media management, or heavy video editing.
₹25,000 – ₹40,000 per month
Expect everything above plus reels, more design variety, trend research, and light art direction. Some studios include a quarterly shoot at this level.
₹75,000+ per month
Expect a genuine growth partnership: senior strategy, monthly shoot production, paid media management with real budget, influencer coordination, and reporting that talks about revenue rather than reach.
The costs nobody mentions upfront
- Ad spend is separate. Management fees do not include the money that goes to Meta. Budget for both.
- Shoot costs. Photographer, studio, model, styling, props. A modest product shoot in Lucknow starts around ₹15,000–25,000.
- Influencer fees. Coordination might be included; the creators' fees are not.
- Paid tools. Scheduling and design subscriptions, if the agency bills them through.
- Rush work. Most contracts cover a set volume. Last-minute festive campaigns usually cost extra.
How to tell whether a price is fair
Stop comparing monthly fees and ask these instead:
- How many pieces of creative, of what type, per month? Get a number.
- Who is doing the work? Will a senior person be on the account after month one?
- Who owns the assets? You should own every file and every ad account. If that is unclear, walk away.
- What does the report contain? If reporting is reach and likes only, you cannot tell whether the money worked.
- What is the notice period? Twelve-month lock-ins with no exit are a red flag.
Is the cheapest option ever right?
Sometimes, honestly. If you are pre-revenue and simply need consistent presence while you work out the product, a freelancer at ₹10,000 is a reasonable decision.
But if you are doing ₹5 lakh a month and social is your main acquisition channel, hiring the cheapest option is expensive. A slightly better agency that lifts conversion even marginally pays for itself several times over. The fee is small next to the revenue it influences.
A note on results
Be sceptical of anyone promising specific numbers before they have seen your business. Real results depend on your product, price point, margins and market. What a good agency can promise is process: consistent output, clear reporting, and someone senior thinking about your brand.
For context on what is achievable: our lowest recorded cost per link click is ₹0.33, and one campaign produced 1,149 leads. Those are real numbers from real accounts — and they are not a guarantee for anyone else's brand, because no honest agency can offer one.
